A short talk by Jetsun Khandro Rinpoche, in English, on the Four Noble Truths as an inner reflection on potential, ignorance, cessation and the path.
Jetsun Khandro Rinpoche gives a short talk in English on the Four Noble Truths as the four foundations of Buddhist teaching, which she frames as an inner reflection rather than the adoption of an outside belief. She describes the first truth as the gap between the potential people have and what they manage to realise, and the second as ignorance of that potential, with the restlessness, anxiety and attachment that follow.
The third truth is that cessation is possible, and the fourth is the path, including meditation and contemplation, as the work of strengthening one’s awareness. She says this puts responsibility on each person and can sit alongside other ways of thinking.
