An evening guided meditation led by Ajahn Sucitto on 23 June 2021 at Cittaviveka, Chithurst Buddhist Monastery, UK.

Ajahn Sucitto leads an evening sit around sati, bearing something in mind. He describes citta as both open and aware and also affected, and says the body steadies the mind so it does not collapse into agitation. He guides attention across the whole body, including the ground beneath and the space around it, then into the felt field of sensation and the way breathing moves through it like a boat through water.

He gives particular attention to the out-breath, letting the in-breath come when it comes, and to widening awareness when it contracts into one spot, using the spine and base of the body. He describes samadhi as open stability, then closes by returning to the world with the natural happiness of the heart. Long stretches are silent.
