A morning talk by Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo on knowing the mind directly, from the archive channel of her talks, with guidance on resting as the knower.

Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo speaks in English to a live audience, referring back to a talk the week before. She begins from the point that everything we know, inside or out, we know only through the mind, yet few people look at it. She compares the mind to a house full of junk, contrasts Tibetan visualisation practice with the cluttered minds of modern students, and asks what a thought actually is.

She uses the image of a film projector to show how experience is projected moment by moment, and describes the mind as the known and the knower, with the sky as awareness and thoughts as clouds. She recommends calming first, then resting with the knower, and closes by rejoicing in the merit of the gathering and dedicating it.
