Yuttadhammo Bhikkhu is a Canadian-born Theravada monk. His own organisation’s biography says he began intensive daily meditation in the Mahasi Sayadaw tradition in January 2000 and was ordained in 2001 under the guidance of Ajahn Tong Sirimangalo in Chiang Mai. Besides his meditation training he studied Sanskrit, Pali and Indian religion at McMaster University and the University of Toronto, and formal Thai Dhamma, Abhidhamma and Pali at Wat Phradhatu Sri Chom Tong, where Ajahn Tong was abbot.

He has taught intensive meditation in Thailand, Sri Lanka, the United States and Canada since 2003. He gives talks in English and Thai, and teaches online through YouTube, through group and individual video-based courses, and in a regular live question-and-answer broadcast.

He founded Sirimangalo International, a non-profit organisation registered in Ontario, Canada, to support the practice and teaching of vipassana in the tradition of Ajahn Tong. It does not sell products or charge fees and depends on donations. Its meditation centre, as listed on its site, is in Ratnapura, Sri Lanka. People hoping to practise in Thailand itself can look at the centres connected with Ajahn Tong in Chiang Mai, such as Wat Ram Poeng and Wat Chom Tong.

His best known work is the free booklet How To Meditate: A Beginner’s Guide To Peace, which the site says has been translated into almost twenty languages, and the matching video series of the same name. The booklet’s chapters cover sitting meditation, walking meditation, fundamentals, mindful prostration and practice in daily life. His second book is Lessons in Practical Buddhism.
