Part 6 of 13 · Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning, Kathmandu
Questions on devotion, renunciation, the similes, karma and emptiness not meaning inaction.
A question-and-answer session on the first days of the teaching, with a translator relaying questions. Rinpoche answers on attachment and devotion towards a teacher, why renunciation rests on the view of emptiness (told through a story of a monk and Manjushri), and guru devotion as pure perception in tantra. He returns to the mirror and magician similes, explains how analogy differs from reasoning, why karma still works if all is illusion, and encourages study of Svatantrika Madhyamaka. Further questions cover devotion as a way to realise emptiness, emptiness not meaning inaction, and why illusion appears at all. Some questions are held over to the next day.
