Part 9 of 13 · Sixty Stanzas on Reasoning, Kathmandu

Practising amid daily life, culture and Dharma, and the two accumulations.

Rinpoche steps back from the text to ask how to practise with children, bills and a phone to charge. He names mistaking culture for the Dharma as a main obstacle and says raising children can itself be practice, with stories of Asanga and Vasubandhu’s mother and of a poor man who mended a bell and became Ashvaghosha. Paltrul Rinpoche’s hungry yak, the two accumulations of merit and wisdom, and why lamp offerings and stories such as Manjushri’s lake still matter when study stalls fill the rest. Stanzas on the expedient and direct teachings are promised after the break.
